Burn it all up!
Name: Park JungMin
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Gift: Pyrokinesis, Astral Projection
Human Form
Demon Form
Gang: Ayumi’s Gang
Position: Middle Rank
Weapons: None
Fighting Style: JungMin fights with his fire, it’s his main weapon. If he can’t set the entire place on fire, he’ll cover his hands with flames and use hand-to-hand combat to gain an advantage. He’s known to be unpredictable in every sense of the word; no one knows if he would hesitate to even set his flames on an ally if that would give him an upper hand. His unpredictability and high tolerance for pain makes fighting him difficult.
Personality: A complete wildcard. Most notably, JungMin has a bipolar disorder, jumping between various extremes. Most of the time he acts like a sugar-addicted kid, jumping around and getting into everything. He hardly ever seems to run out of energy. When he does sleep, he doesn’t take being woken up too well, hitting and kicking and grabbing hair to get the message across.
When he becomes annoyed, a much darker personality emerges. Smarter than his easy-going and sometimes idiotic appearance lets on, he becomes almost sadistic. In a flash, the cheerful light in his eyes will darken and become dangerous, and more than a little unstable. It is said that JungMin is like the fire he wields. Bright and cheery when handled correctly, but once turned loose will destroy all in his path, friend and foe alike. He also lacks a guilty conscience, something that makes him even more dangerous. The demon quite frankly doesn’t care if innocent bystanders are caught in the path of destruction. You’d have to be very close to him to warrant a guilt trip should he harm you in any way; so far, only one person has ever become that close to his heart.
Since meeting YoungSaeng, his personality has been slowly changing for the better. He seems to generally care more, and is making a conscious effort to curb his destructive tendencies. Since that day two years ago though, he’d all but reverted back to how he used to be, and the effect YoungSaeng had on him only applies now while the Spirit is present. Outside of that positive influence, he only seems to be getting worse and worse.
History: JungMin didn’t exactly grow up in a caring family environment. His family was one of violence, his mother leaving when he was three. There was only himself, his father and his older brother. He shared a mutual hatred with his only sibling, both of them avoiding the other whenever they could. His father was a human-hater, and often took out his frustrations on his sons whenever they assumed their human forms to blend in easier.
His affinity for fire came suddenly without warning when he was thirteen. That night, he burned down their home in a fit of rage at his father, who quite honestly was only a father in the biological sense because he couldn’t care less about his sons. It was then the two siblings finally connected, as they had both hated the man, and his older brother revealed he too had pyrokinesis. Using their gift together, they destroyed the entire area, including a few houses around their own. Their father was killed in the blaze.
JungMin reflected on it later, and decided he wasn’t sad or guilty at all.
He grew up like this, the two brothers working together to make a living. JungMin offered the different gangs and organizations his fire-wielding services, acting as a sort of mercenary. He had no loyalty to any of them though; a group he worked for one week could become his target the next, and he wouldn’t bat an eyelash. His brother did the same, but where JungMin enjoyed watching the fire he conjured dance as it ate through anything in its path, his brother did his work because he enjoyed the pain it caused.
His gift of astral projection, unlike his pyrokinesis, didn’t develop until a few years later. A few days after his eighteenth birthday, he was doused in water while setting his flames on a new target, and the sudden shock caused him to accidentally eject his soul from his body. He completely panicked, not sure what was going on. It was then that he met YoungSaeng, another astral projector who talked him through getting back into his body safely. Since then their friendship only grew, and it wasn’t long before they became lovers.
JungMin, having not known any sort of honest affection before, was very protective of YoungSaeng and cared for him deeply. When they joined Ayumi's gang, they did it together, JungMin finally leaving his brother behind. Since then, he’d been trying to take a less destructive approach to fighting, YoungSaeng’s influence making him more considerate of others around him.
When he was twenty, the worst thing that could have happened came true. YoungSaeng was killed while out on gang-related business. At first, JungMin was too stricken by grief to do anything other than to hold his boyfriend’s body to him, and cry. When YoungSaeng’s body was taken to be prepared for the funeral, he hid in his room. Eventually, the grief turned to rage, and he left to find the one who’d killed Saeng. He was going to avenge his boyfriend’s death, and he didn’t care who stood in his way.
In that 24 hour span, his mind had almost completely reverted to how it had been before he’d met YoungSaeng, JungMin nearly driving himself mad with anger. Finding the killer’s house, he proceeded to burn it down, as well as half the city block. All rationality was gone.
If YoungSaeng hadn’t come back as a spirit, many innocent people would have died. JungMin was coaxed into stopping the blaze, though he wasn’t happy about it. Later he heard the man he’d been targeting was still alive, and swore if he saw him again he was going to turn him into a pile of charred ashes.
Since then, JungMin was even more unpredictable than before, and very protective of his spirit boyfriend. He does make an effort to curb his fire when YoungSaeng is present, but aside from then he lets it run rampant. The affect losing Saeng had on his mind is the most troublesome, but if you were to ask JungMin, he’d just point out he wasn’t exactly sane to begin with.
Likes: YoungSaeng, fire, carrots, horses, running, sunny days, flying, candy
Dislikes: His family, rain, water, being woken up
Other: He has a strange fascination with carrots, and can be bribed to do almost anything with one. Including wake up without braining someone.
